What stayed with me wasn't the explosion. It was the last image.

Reading the essay, I realized that literature can sometimes preserve what life cannot: a fleeting moment that would otherwise disappear forever. That lonely man watching children play in the rain is gone, but for a moment he lives again in our imagination.

That's what I took away from this piece. Thank you.
