I remember this from Plot Spoiler

So good to see a clear statement that you’re open to constructive feedback—I’ve sometimes wanted to point out a thing or two, but bitten my tongue for fear of triggering the writer’s defence mode

Hahaha since you’ve only posted three words so far may i ask if “Mad” is a superfluous adjective to “Ophelia”?

Not a serious note obvs but the pedant in me is easily set off.

Footnote: I’ve posted previously about the mastery of Millais’s Ophelia so, yes, I’m probably in your target audience!

Yup just replying to myself—i can keep this up all day but thankfully i shan’t!

Alas poor Ophelia, i knew her as the most gaslighted character of the Bard’s—unlike say Hero, who had supporters to defend against her being falsely accused, Ophelia is told by everyone she trusts that she is wrong about what she sees. Being driven to suicide became her only escape after the truth was erased.

Yeah these are a different kind of mad lol. Now I am tho going to have to find the rabbit hole that explains why in Hamlet she’s so passive when Shakespeare writes dynamic female characters in other plays.
